SITE INVESTIGATIONS & SURVEY

Our Site Investigation & Survey services

  • Our Survey Team uses various techniques to map buried services and other structures below ground, and have experience working across multiple sectors.

We are also able to undertake Service Clearance, an essential part of the Permit to Dig process as well as Topographic Surveys - building a true and accurate picture of your site

  • Soils Limited is proud to maintain an in-house team of technicians, able to undertake a range of site investigation works and monitoring.

We operate a fleet of tracked window samplers that allow us to respond rapidly to our clients’ needs. Our technicians are all experienced and trained to the highest standards. This in-house expertise gives us a level of control and insight that extends from your earliest enquiry to the final deliverables.

Further to our in-house capabilities, we have close relationships with a trusted network of regular suppliers and subcontractors with whom we work extensively. This broadens our access to the full range of techniques and methods, as well as new and innovative approaches. We only work with the best, with annual HSE audits of subcontractors and a culture of continuous improvement on all of our sites.

  • Our teams regularly undertake a range of investigation techniques, including but not limited to:

    • In-situ testing

    • Dynamic/window sampling

    • Cable percussive drilling

    • Rotary boreholes

    • CBR testing (via TRL Probe or Plate Load)

    • Dynamic Cone Penetrometers

    • Overwater drilling

  • Our teams regularly undertake a range of Geo-Environmental investigation techniques, including but not limited to:

    • Groundwater and Ground Gas Installations

    • Water sampling

    • Laboratory scheduling and testing

  • Soils Limited routinely work with Drainage and Civil Engineers on the testing required to inform the design of drainage systems. We have extensive experience in percolation testing, infiltration tests, and full-scale trial pit soakaway tests. These test types generally inform sustainable surface water drainage schemes – BRE365 - or for wastewater disposal from treatment plants – BS6297.

In addition to the testing, we can prepare SuDS Design Reports giving a more complete solution to our clients.

Test types and methods can vary depending on the planned drainage system and anticipated ground conditions. We are able to work with clients and design teams to understand the needs of the project and advise on the best approach.

Winter Groundwater Monitoring has become a significant and potentially time-consuming regulatory hurdle on many sites, with local authorities increasingly having strict rules on the timing and duration of monitoring periods.

Our experience and in-house capabilities enable us to respond quickly, keeping your project on track.m description
